No hot-key switching3
I recently purchased this switch to expand my farm of computers beyond the two-port PS-2 KVM I already have. The price of the Kinamax KVM-USB4 and the USB keyboard/mouse support were the primary motivations for my purchase decision. The unit arrived as advertised, with all necessary cables to connect to four computers.

The thing that surprised me about this switch is that it lacks any keyboard hot-key switching capability. I have never before encountered a switch that did not allow you to change computers with the scroll-lock key (or some other combination), so I didn't think to look harder at the specifications before I ordered. The included manual clearly stated that the button on the unit is the only way to switch between the inputs, and I was unable to find any undocumented hot-key sequence when I used the switch.

The bottom line is that the switch works, but does not include a "key" feature that I need (sorry for the pun!), so I will be returning the switch in favor of a more expensive model.

Very good for the price.4
It work well for the most part. So far the only problems I have had is:

1. If you let the computer go to sleep. It will not see the keyboard and mouse until you unplug the cable to the PC, and plug it back in.

2. I plugged a USB Belkin Wireless network adapter into the KVM. It would recognize the adapter but would not install correctly. The problem could stem from the Belkin going through through a Hub.

With the two problems I would still recommend this product. The problems are not much of a bother to me. I would say that problem one could be fixed if you set you computer to power the usb even in sleep mode. But for me it really isn't worth the effort.

Bad video, USB ports hang2
I've had this for over 9 months now and in general it works OK but I've seen a lot fo problems other people have seen plus every once in a while when I'm switching between my Windows server and laptop the USB port will just hang. In some cass I've had to reboot a server to get the port back, other cases I can go into sleep mode and come back and teh port will be OK. In addition, the debounce function for the button that does the switching doesn't work all the time either. Sometimes you'll press the button once and you'll end up two or three ports away instead of one. The video also is bad especialy with teh laptop. You'll see lines scanning across the screen. Anotehr problem is cable management, I would prefer to have all the cables come out the back instead of from the sides. This makes it awkward if you have to move any hardware and it just look sloppy. As someone else emntioned, having hot key switch capability would be nice, too. In general the device works if you don't switch too often every day.
